Review:

Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski are Blind Pilot, a band that comes to us from Portland, Oregon. Blind Pilot embarked on their first tour a year ago in an untraditional way…on their bikes. That's right, on their bikes, no gas powered vehicle to transport gear, just the legs of these two musical men.

While embarking on their West Coast tour, Blind Pilot went to a lot of small towns that didn't know what indie-pop music was, nor were these locales familiar with the concept of a "touring band" playing in their bars. Blind Pilot's novelty brought them success, they sold all of their EPs while on their tour, and then headed home to Portland to record their first full length album, 3 Rounds and a Sound.

3 Rounds and a Sound is receiving rave reviews from numerous critics, including Paste Magazine, NPR and right here at EvilSponge. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for just about any acoustic sound, but Blind Pilot is, for lack of a better term, music to my ears! I'm looking forward to seeing them live on their tour with The Decemberists this summer in a show that is sure to be amazing.

I give 3 Rounds and a Sound 5 sponges.
