Review:

Highly overrated piece of pretentious drivel. If you’ve seen the commercial, you know the plot. Save yourself the $8. I wouldn’t have paid to see it but I got free passes. I have hated Jim Carrey since he was Fire Marshall Bill, but it turns out he’s the only good thing about this film. There was no character development. I’m left wondering whether Kate Winslet’s character is just un-inspired or if she’s supposed to be utterly despicable. Hard to tell. The screenplay is so sophomoric you can’t even tell if it’s bad acting. Poor Kate! She hasn’t had this bad a role since Titanic. For Carrey, it’s a step up. All the cool camera effects in the world can’t breathe life into this heartless piece of ersatz crap.
